Is UVA-Wise recruiting any Region D Kids ?

they are recruiting devan sproles and matt justice from wise and im sure they'll recruit a lot of the kids from clintwood for sure and from norton

What about Derek Robbins? I think he would be a great fit a D3?

I think they have been recruiting Derek Robbins, Chris and Nick Robinson, Russell Hull, Alec Osborne, Mikell Rose, and maybe one or two more from Clintwood. Whether or not any of them go I have no idea.

I'd much rather see our region D kids get out into a Division 3 or 2 school.. and not this NAIA.. they don't get enough exposure, and I just don't see UVA-Wise a good fit for our Region D athletes..
I'm sorry, but UVA-Wise, is a great Southwestern Va College, but they are focused on out of area athletes and mainly that location known as NoVa

The UVA-Wise offense and defense is centered around speed and quickness (not that is much different that anywhere else). The facts are that the majority of successful Region D players do not fit that mold. However there are few Region D lineman on both sides of the ball that IMO could have started for UVA-Wise this season.

Luke Logan (Pound) did start several games and played a lot of minutes in all of them. I think Aaron Crabtree (Kelly) also got some minutes. I expect Chris Strouth, a redshirt freshman, (Pound/then Kelly) to be a contributor next year.
